Birkwood Cottage shares 3½ acres of wooded and landscaped grounds with the owners at Birkwood House.  Birkwood House was built in 1905 and The Cottage was built slightly later as the gardener’s cottage.  It is an ideal base to soak up the country atmosphere or travel further afield.

The cottage is located in a beautiful rural area, on the outskirts of the village of Symington, 2½ miles from the market town of Biggar and 10 miles from the historic village of New Lanark.  Within easy reach of both Edinburgh and Glasgow and their airports and their surrounding attractions and also easy road access for heading further afield.  The countryside is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, with numerous country tracks and coastal trails to explore, ideal for cyclists, walkers, mountain bikers and hikers.
